Ilha do guajiru

For all information on Ilha do Guajiru, we suggest you best visit the island's Official Tourist site:

The history of Ilha do Guajirú goes back many years in time. For many decades, this (used to be an) island served as a very productive coconut plantation.

When you visit the island you will find out why, since Ilha do Guajirú:

1. consists of rich, fertile lands everywhere!
2. enjoys an average of approximately 3000 hours sun every year!
3. has an ideal climate, being located almost at the equator!
4. reaches temperatures average between 26 & 32 degrees Celcius everyday!
5. has no lack of water at any time, due to the massive Lagoon in the front and a River circling at the back!

But these ideal circumstances also produced the name of the island:
The "Guajirú" is a large consumable berry, red of colour and sweet in taste: try a cold Guajirú juice whilst watching the sunset!

Walk to the end of Praia da Barra where the palms begin, and then climb the hills at the back: you will find the berries in the small bush, but look well between the many green leaves!

On Ilha do Guajirú, Brazil’s Ecological Paradise, it is hard not to participate in water sports! With the huge Main Lagoon in front, the sea behind the Dunes, and the River running behind the island’s back, what better ingredients could any watersports enthusiast desire?

Or simply take a day off, relax, be lazy and enjoy the beauty and serenity all around you, while you refresh with one of the island’s famous cocktails..
